Emilio has extensive experience representing clients in complex cross-border disputes, both in court and in international arbitration. He holds an LL.M. from New York University School of Law and worked as an international associate in the Washington, DC office of one of the world's leading international arbitration firms.

Due to his strong academic background and professional experience in both Mexico and the United States, Emilio is ideally positioned to advise clients in disputes involving both Mexican and U.S. law.

Emilio has advised clients on a wide range of disputes, including matters related to mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions, financial institutions, energy, construction and infrastructure. His practice also encompasses contentious insolvency proceedings, as well as advising on the litigation aspects of transactions involving restructuring transactions and special situations.

  • Advises a multinational company in the energy sector in a dispute arising from an EPC contract, involving court proceedings in Mexico and an international arbitration before the ICC.
  • Represents a company in an arbitration related to the interpretation of a contract related to the transportation of hydrocarbons by pipeline.
  • He is part of the team representing a leading Mexican online gambling company in a multi-jurisdictional dispute, involving court proceedings in Mexico and the United Kingdom, as well as an ICC arbitration in London.
  • Represented a Mexican entertainment company in an arbitration related to the alleged termination of a stock purchase and sale agreement due to circumstances arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Advised a clearinghouse in an arbitration against a brokerage house in connection with fees charged for services rendered.
